Fishers of Men - Hector Sutherland Pulpit Fall

After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today     Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church.  Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.

Our Praise :  Normally at our morning services the items of Praise are taken from Church Hymnary Third Edition (CH3) and those at evening services are taken from Mission Praise (MP).

If you feel more comfortable sitting during the items of praise, please feel free to do so.

Crèche:    There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.

Sunday School and Youth Fellowship meet every Sunday during the school term.   They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.

The Ladies’ Bible Study Group :  The group meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.   All ladies welcome.

The Prayer Fellowship meets in the Manse at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.   All are welcome to attend.

Volunteers :  For the start of next year volunteers are sought for

  • Cleaning duties in the church and the hall ( Heather Quaye)
  • Door duty and/or readers (Donna McEwan)
  • After Morning Worship Tea rota (Bill Marshall)

If you can help with any of these please give your name to the person responsible.

Pastoral Visits :  The Minister asks that he would be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.

St Columba’s Church Portree  will have its Festival on Nine Lessons and Carols at 2.30 pm on Sunday 18 December. All are welcome to attend

Church Magazine : The Christmas edition of the Church Magazine has been printed and is ready for distribution.  Distributers are asked to collect their folder from the Front Vestibule.

Our thanks go to Trevor Dee for his production of this magazine.

Life & Work : Anyone wishing to join the list of those who subscribe to Life and Work should see Morna MacLaren.

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal : At the service last Saturday a total of 678 shoeboxes from the Portree area were gathered in our Church Hall before being transported to Blythswood in Evanton. From there they will be sent out to Eastern Europe.

In total, Skye donated almost 2,000 boxes.

Thanks are expressed to all who donated boxes and special thanks go to those who helped in any way in the organisation of Saturday afternoon.

“Kilmuir and Stenscholl parish extend a warm welcome to all : Saturday 10th December, do come along and have afternoon tea and mince pies/cakes in Kilmuir Church Hall (2pm to 5pm) – take a little time out of the busy-ness of the season to come and enjoy a relaxing cuppa!”
