Remembrance Sunday 09 November – Morning Worship : As in previous years, Portree Parish Church will host the Remembrance Day Service. Following the period of silence in the Square, members of the uniformed organisations will join us in the Church for morning worship.
While the seating arrangements will be slightly different from a normal Sunday it is hoped that members of our congregation will not be put off from attending on that day.
New Communicant Members : Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 16 November.
YOUR Magazine : Patrick and Jenni may have moved back to England but the magazine continues ! With the assistance of Patrick and Jenni, we hope that our next edition will be published at the beginning of December – giving us a very tight schedule.
Unsurprisingly, the theme for this magazine will be Christmas. This may be Christmas past, Christmas present or how you see it in the future.
We need articles about your memories of Christmas in your past, your thoughts on how it is celebrated today, your favourite hymns, poems, humorous stories, etc.
Please submit your items as soon as possible and by Sunday 23 November at the latest. Items may be left in the folder in the Front Vestibule or, preferably, emailed to me on wwm74marl@hotmail.com
We are also seeking new members to the Magazine Committee. If you feel you could make a positive contribution (Remember Donna’s talks on Time and Talents ?) please speak to either Sandor or Bill.
Kirk Session : A meeting of the Kirk Session will take place in the Manse at 7.30 pm on Thursday 06 November. Copies of Minutes and Agenda are available in the Front Vestibule.
Congregational Board : A meeting of the Congregational Board will take place in the Manse at 7.30 pm on Thursday 13 November.
