Intimations – Sunday 15 October 2018
Our Praise : Normally at our morning services the items of Praise are taken from Church Hymnary Third Edition (CH3) and those at evening services are taken from Mission Praise (MP).
If you feel more comfortable sitting during the items of praise, please feel free to do so.
After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Crèche: There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.
Sunday School and Youth Fellowship are closed for the October holiday period. Both groups resume classes on Sunday 29 October.
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group : The normal Tuesday meetings in the Church Hall will not take place over the October holiday break. Instead, on Tuesday 17 October will meet at 10.30 am in Jansvans. Normal studies will resume in the Church Hall on Tuesday 24 October.
The Prayer Fellowship will meet in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening All are welcome to attend.
Pastoral Visits : The Minister asks that he would be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Church Magazine : Although the next edition of the magazine will not be published until late November / early December, it is never too soon to submit articles, prayers, stories etc. These may be placed in the Magazine Folder in the Front Vestibule. Articles may also be emailed to Trevor Dee at trevordee@gmx.co.uk
New Communicant Members : Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 19 November.
Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal : Blythswood Shoe-Box forms are available in the Front Vestibule.
SINGING IN CHURCH
Make a joyful noise to the Lord !
It has been heartwarming to hear how the congregation has responded to the changes in accompaniment – or none – over the Summer.
To help this further, there will be new sessions, initially after the morning service fellowship, for half an hour or so, to become more familiar with the hymns we regularly sing, and indeed perhaps to learn some new ones too.
The benefits of communal singing are well recognised for body, mind and spirit ; so come along and join in singing together, or bring a musical instrument.
A short meeting will be held after the morning service today where you can find out more.
