Intimations – Sunday 29 October 2017

Portree Parish Church Exterior

Our Praise :  Our praise items this morning are taken from Mission Praise and those at evening services are taken from Church Hymnary Third Edition (CH3).

In the absence of John Cameron we are delighted that Lian Na has offered to provide the accompaniment at morning worship and equally delighted that Archie MacDonald will, once more, precent Psalms at the evening service

If you feel more comfortable sitting during the items of praise, please feel free to do so.

After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today     Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church.  Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.

Crèche:    There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.

Sunday School and Youth Fellowship groups meet every Sunday during the school term. Sunday School meets initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.  Youth Fellowship meets in the Church Hall at 11.00 am.

The Ladies’ Bible Study Group :  meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.   All ladies welcome.

The Prayer Fellowship will meet in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm on Tuesday evening   All are welcome to attend.

From Tuesday 7 November until Spring next year the group will meet in the Manse.

Pastoral Visits :  The Minister asks that he would be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.

Kirk Session / Congregational Board : A joint meeting of the Session and Board will be held on the Manse at 7.00 pm on Thursday 30 November with a Kirk Session meeting following thereafter.

Church Magazine :  Although the next edition of the magazine will not be published until late November / early December, it is never too soon to submit articles, prayers, stories etc.  These may be placed in the Magazine Folder in the Front Vestibule. Articles may also be emailed to Trevor Dee at trevordee@gmx.co.uk

New Communicant Members :   Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone.   We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 19 November.

Remembrance Sunday 12 November  – Morning Worship :  As in previous years, Portree Parish Church will host the Remembrance Day Service. Following the period of silence in the Square, members of the uniformed organisations will join us in the Church for morning worship.

While the seating arrangements will be slightly different from a normal Sunday it is hoped that members of our congregation will not be put off from attending on that day.

Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal :  Blythswood Shoe-may still be handed into the shop on the pier until Friday 3 November
