Intimations – Sunday 14 August 2016

Bible - Portree Parish Church

WELCOME : We are delighted to have with us, today and next Sunday, Mr Edward Burrows from Glasgow who is holidaying on Skye with his wife.  Mr Burrows has attended services in Portree Church on a previous visit.  He has experience of playing the organ in various churches in Glasgow and offered to play the organ for us at our morning services on the 14th and 21st August.  We are obviously very grateful to Mr Burrows and gladly accept his kind offer to play in our church.

Sunday School and Youth Fellowship are closed for the Summer holiday period.  Classes will resume next Sunday, 21 August.

The Ladies’ Bible Study Group resumes on Tuesday 16 August after the Summer holiday break.  The group meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.   All ladies welcome.

The Prayer Fellowship meets in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.   All are welcome to attend.

Pastoral Visits :  The Minister asks that he would be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.Blythswood Care’s Thanksgiving Service for its 50th Anniversary

You are invited to celebrate Blythswood Care’s 50th Anniversary at a service of praise and thanksgiving at Portree Church of Scotland, Somerled Square on Tuesday 30 August at 7.30 pm

This invitation has been sent out to all churches in the Portree area.  All welcome.    If you wish to attend this event please add your name to the list which can be found in the vestibule.

Tea and coffee will be served in the Church Hall after the service.  Offers of baking, help with setting up the hall beforehand and clearing up afterwards will be gratefully received.

If you can help in any of these ways please give your name to Fiona or Bill Marshall

Holidays : The holiday period is upon us and members of the congregation will be visiting many different parts of the country.   If anyone visits a church elsewhere and finds that, like Portree Parish Church, spare copies of a magazine are available to visitors then the Magazine Committee would be extremely grateful to receive a copy.   These can provide ideas for future articles in our own magazine

Any magazines obtained can be placed in the Magazine Folder in the Front Vestibule.
