After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Crèche: There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.
Sunday School & Youth Fellowship meet every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon. All ladies welcome.
The Prayer Fellowship meets in the Manse at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening All are welcome to attend.
Ladies’ Bible Study Christmas Lunch : The Ladies’ Bible Study group is once more planning a Christmas Lunch to which all ladies of the congregation are invited. The lunch will be held in the Coolin Hills Hotel on Saturday 5 December at 12.30 pm. All ladies interested can collect a form from the Front Vestibule (only 1 name per form please, if bringing a friend please use two forms). Completed Forms and the appropriate money should be put in an envelope and placed in the special box in the Front Vestibule by Sunday 29 November at the latest.
Portree Sunday School, House for a House Appeal : Members of the congregation and their families and friends are reminded of the Coffee Morning , hosted by members of the Sunday School, which will take place in the Church Hall, York Drive on Saturday 28 November from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm. The aim of this event is to raise funds for the people in Nepal. The Church of Scotland is encouraging each presbytery to raise at least £500 which represents the cost of building a house for a Nepalese family.
Come along and help raise funds to build a house for a family in Nepal.
Church Magazine : It is hoped that the Christmas edition of our Church Magazine will be ready for distribution next Sunday.
We are greatly indebted to Trevor Dee for the production of this edition.
Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal : Shoe Box Appeal forms are available in the Front Vestibule. Boxes should be handed in to the Blythswood shop on the pier by Friday 27 November at the latest.
Coin Boxes : Coin Boxes may now be handed in again. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Church and Church Hall Cleaning Rotas : Volunteers are sought to fill the few vacant slots in the above rotas. This would only involve a
total of 4 – 6 hours per YEAR Anyone willing to assist with this should contact Ann MacLeod (611 271)
Door Duty / Readers : Door Duty volunteers are sought to give a welcome greeting to people as they come into the church and to take up the offerings. Readers would read the lessons during services. If you would be willing to help with either or both of these duties please see Donna McEwan or Bill Marshall.
Testimony Evening : Dion Skye have asked for the following notice to be inserted in the intimation sheet.
“Testimony Evening on Friday 27 November at 7.30 p.m. at the Old
Library, Bayfield Lane, Portree.
Rev. John Urquhart and Mr John Caldwell will speak of what God has
done in their lives and Mr Callum MacAskill will lead the praise.
Teas and baking will be served and all donations to go towards the
work of Dion Skye. All welcome.”
