Intimations – Sunday 20 September 2015
After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Crèche: There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.
Sunday School and Youth Fellowship normally meet every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
There will be no Sunday School or Youth Fellowship next Sunday due to the school holiday period. They will both resume on Sunday 4 October.
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon. All ladies welcome.
The Prayer Fellowship meet in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening All are welcome to attend.
Church Magazine : Although the next edition of the magazine will not be published until late November / early December, it is never too soon to submit articles, prayers, stories etc. These may be placed in the Magazine Folder in the Front Vestibule. Articles may also be emailed to Trevor Dee at trevordee@btinternet.com or Jon Farr at jonfarr80@btinternet.com
New Communicant Members : Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 15 November.
Harvest Thanksgiving – Revised Arrangements :
Kirk Session has agreed that the Harvest Thanksgiving Service will now take place on Sunday 04 October. It also agreed that all donations made should be directed towards those in need in Portree and other areas of Skye.
Helping Hands has been identified as the most appropriate organisation to receive our donations and they will liaise with various other agencies (Social Services, CAB etc) to ensure that help is directed to where it is most needed. Cash donations would be the most acceptable form of donation as this allows Helping Hands to make bulk purchases at more competitive prices.
It is also hoped that food items from the list available in the Front Vestibule will be brought and left in the special box in the Front Vestibule. Members of the Sunday School and Youth Fellowship will bring these food items to the Chancel area at the start of the service on 4 October.
Kirk Session also agreed that the September retiring collection and any white envelopes received during September or on Sunday 4 October will be directed to Helping Hands.
The donations will be collected at both services on each of these two Sundays.
Please remember that there is a box in the Front Vestibule into which donations of groceries can be made throughout the year. These are delivered to Helping Hands on a regular basis.
