Communion :  Communion will be served at the morning service today.

If  you wish to be served with the Elements please sit in one of the pews with the white cloths.  If you are unable to do this, please indicate to an Elder from where you are sitting and the Elements will be brought to you.   Those wishing the Common Cup should sit on the organ side of the church and those wishing the Individual Cup should sit on the pulpit side.

 

After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today     Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church Hall. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.

Crèche:    There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.

 

Sunday School meets every Sunday during the school term.   They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.

 

Youth Fellowship will meet in the Church Hall from 7.15 to 8.30 pm tonight.

 

Christian Aid Week  –  Joint Service with Bracadale & Duirinish

Kirk Session has approved the suggestion of a joint Christian Aid Week service which will be held in Fernilea Church at 6.00 pm tonight.   This will replace our normal Evening Service. The Communion Service which was planned for this evening will now be held on the evening of Sunday 4 August.

It is hoped that this service will be well supported by our congregation and that those with their own transport might offer lifts to those who have not.

 

Christian Aid Envelopes :   These should be placed in the large box which can be found in the Front Vestibule.

 

The Ladies’ Bible Study Group  meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays  from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.   All ladies welcome.

 

The Prayer Fellowship group meets in the Manse at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.   All are welcome to attend.

 

Coffee Mornings :  Coffee Mornings, in aid of church funds  are held in the Church Hall each Thursday from 10.30 – 12.00

Further volunteers to help with the rota for these events are still sought.

It is hoped that this venture will be well supported by both the congregation, the local community and also that it will attract visitors to our island.

 

Church Magazine : The Spring edition of the Church Magazine is now ready for distribution and those who have kindly volunteered to act as distributors are asked to uplift from the Front Vestibule the folder for their distribution area.

When delivery has been completed the folders should be returned to the Front Vestibule.

 

Minister’s Visit to Nepal : As part of his responsibilities as a member of the Church of Scotland’s World Mission Council, Sandor will be a representative of the Church of Scotland at the forthcoming General Assembly of the APC in Nepal.  He will also visit other areas in which the Church of Scotland has a particular interest.   He will leave on 23 May and return on 11 June.   Kirk Session has approved the following arrangements for services on the three Sundays when Sandor will be absent :-

Sunday 26 May :   Morning Worship  – Rev. John Murray

This will be followed at 12.30 pm by a Gaelic Service.

This service is open to all, from any church, who would wish to attend.  Please inform anyone you know who might be interested in attending.

Evening Worship  –  Bill Marshall

Sunday 2 June  :    Morning & Evening Worship  –  Rev. David Kellas

Sunday 9 June  :    Morning & Evening Worship  –  Rev. David Kellas

 

David Kellas will also take the Sunday afternoon service at Budhmor.
