INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
The Kirk Session and Congregational Board have decided that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Please note that next Sunday, children will be in the Hall for the full hour.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Life & Work Subscriptions 2024 :
We would ask that existing subscribers confirm with Morna MacLaren that they wish their subscription to continue. The annual subscription rate for 2024 remains at the same price of £42 for 12 monthly copies.
Anyone who would like to start receiving the magazine should also contact Morna.
Preparatory Service and Communion Sunday :
Prior to the Communion Service to be held on Sunday 19 November, a Preparatory Service will be held in the church at 7.00 pm next Tuesday 14 November
All members of the congregation are invited to attend.
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during both services on Sunday 19 November.
Members of the congregation are asked to bring their own piece of bread to these services.
Individual disposable glasses and a sealed container of wine will be issued to each person taking Communion.
New Communicant Members :
Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 19 November.
Church Magazine – Christmas Edition :
It’s only 6 weeks to Christmas ! What is Christmas without your Portree Church magazine !
Please, please, please let us have YOUR contributions for this edition. They can be as long or as short as you like and on any topic.
As usual, contributions can be place in the red folder on the wall of the Front Vestibule or sent to me at wwm74marl@hotmail.com
Publication date will be Sunday 10 December so it would be wonderful if your contributions were received before Sunday 03 December.
