INTIMATIONS :
Remembrance Sunday 08 November – Morning Worship :
As in previous years, Portree Parish Church will host the Remembrance Day Service. Following the period of silence in the Square, members of the uniformed organisations will join us in the Church for morning worship.
While the seating arrangements will be slightly different from a normal Sunday it is hoped that members of our congregation will not be put off from attending on that day.
This year we will be joined by members of Portree Gaelic Choir and pupils from Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh and our first item of praise will be from Salm 91.
Note that, as is the custom with Gaelic Psalms, the congregation will remain seated during the singing. For all other items of praise they will stand.
The Gaelic verses will be displayed on the screens, and, for the benefit of non-Gaelic speakers, the appropriate Pew Bible Page will be intimated.
The sermon will be given by Rev Iain Osborne, minister of St Columba’s Episcopal Church
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, and Juice, will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Car Boot Sale :
A reminder that Catherine Stewart has booked a table at the Car Boot Sale to be held at Donnie G”s Church on Saturday 14th November, from 10am until 2pm.
All proceeds will be going to our own Church of Scotland funds.
Preparatory Service and Communion Sunday :
Prior to the Communion Service to be held next Sunday, a Preparatory Service will be held in the church. This service will be combined with the Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship Service and take place at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 10 November.
All members of the congregation are invited to attend.
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during both services on Sunday 15 November.
Individually wrapped pieces of bread, disposable glasses and a sealed container of wine will be distributed by the Elders
New Communicant Members :
Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 16 November.
FreeWill Offering Envelopes :
Envelopes for 2027 will be issued during November.
Anyone wishing to join the FWO scheme and receive a set of weekly envelopes for their offerings should contact Bill
