Baptism : During Morning Worship today, Liza, the daughter of Szende and Ferenc Erdös and grand-daughter of Sandor and Susan will be baptised by Sandor.
Guest Preacher : Following the Sacrament of baptism this morning, Rev. Rory MacLeod, Minister of Strath & Sleat Parish, a long standing friend of the Fazakas family and well known to many of the Portree congregation will conduct the remainder of Morning Worship.
Evening Service 6.00 pm : Roddy Beaton will lead worship at the Evening Service tonight.
Crèche: There is a crèche in the Church Hall behind the Church if anyone wishes to leave their children there during the morning service.
After Morning Worship Fellowship : After Morning Worship today Tea , Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Our Praise : : Normally at our morning services the items of Praise are taken from Church Hymnary Third Edition (CH3) and those at evening services are taken from Mission Praise (MP).
If you feel more comfortable sitting during the items of praise, please feel free to do so.
Sunday School & Youth Fellowship groups meet every Sunday during the school term. Sunday School meets initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall. Youth Fellowship meets in the Church Hall at 11.00 am.
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group : The group meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon. All ladies welcome.
The Prayer Fellowship : Until further notice, the group will meet in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening. All are welcome to attend.
SECURITY : Those people responsible for closing the church at the end of a service or a period of opening the church to visitors are asked to ensure that all doors are locked and that the sound system has been switched off.
Pastoral Visits : The Minister asks that he would be kept informed of
any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would
welcome a visit from him.
Church Calendar for June / July
Thursday 21 June
A meeting of the Congregational Board and Kirk Session will be held in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm with the Kirk Session meeting thereafter. Kirk Session Minutes and Agenda are available from the vestibule.
Sunday 24 June
This will be the last Sunday when Sunday School and Youth Fellowship meet before the Summer holiday period. Classes will resume on Sunday 2 September.
As is our tradition, Morning Worship at 11.00 am will take the form of a Family Service with contributions from our younger members.
Normal Evening worship will take place at 6.00 pm
Tuesday 10 July
This will be the final date for the Ladies’ Bible Study Group before the Summer recess. The new session for the group will commence on Tuesday 21 August.
During the recess period an open invitation is extended to all ladies who would wish to meet informally in the Red Brick Café at Jans on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon
