Compassion Sunday :
Today, at Morning Worship, we are hosting an event in aid of Compassion UK, – a leading child development charity that equips churches in some of the world’s poorest countries with the skills, resources and finances to reach out to those within communities experiencing poverty.
The most vulnerable are so often children.
Compassion partners with local churches in 29 countries across the world. They work together with these churches to support more than two million children in poverty, providing the children with all the benefits of sponsorship.
Not only are these children being given practical benefits like food, clothing and access to education, but loving Christian staff know them personally.
Through the local church, children have the opportunity to learn about Jesus and His love for them. They have a place where they can just be children and enjoy the freedom of playing with their friends.
The purpose of the event is to give details of how, for £32 per month, the church or any individual can sponsor a child.
There will be a short presentation during the morning service and this will be followed by a Soup and Pudding Lunch in the Church Hall where further details and sponsorship forms will be available. All welcome!
