INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While the wearing of face-coverings and maintaining social distancing is no longer a legal requirement, The Scottish Government and the Church of Scotland advice is that in indoor settings the continuation of these practices should be encouraged.
With the continuing high number of cases of Covid cases in and around Portree, and the increasing number of visitors to our island we would strongly recommend that face-coverings (unless exempt) should still be worn in the church and throughout the service – including during the singing of praise items.
The existing cleaning and disinfecting regimes will continue with the church fully sanitised after each service.
All these procedures are designed to minimise the risks to anyone attending worship in the church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Please note that the start to this evening’s service will be slightly delayed as Highland Council has arranged for Iain Ruairidh Finlayson to play a lament to mark the passing of the late Queen.
The church service will start immediately afterwards.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening. All are invited to attend.
Minister’s Annual Leave :
As part of Sandor’s leave entitlement, he and Susan are now in Hungary and will return on Friday 23 September.
During his absence, worship today will be led by Colin (am) and Lachie (pm)
Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship Services will continue to be held on the three Tuesdays of Sandor’s absence and will be led by regular attendees.
During Sandor’s absence please contact Bill Marshall on 01478 650405 regarding any urgent pastoral matters. In cases where a funeral would be involved, John Lamont, Interim Moderator for Kilmuir & Stenscholl, will officiate at these. Again, please contact me and I will contact Mr Lamont.
We wish Sandor and Susan a relaxing break with the family and hope that they return refreshed to Skye.
Charitable Giving :
Kirk Session agreed that the September retiring collection and any white envelopes received during September or on Sunday 02 October can be directed to a local charity. The charity selected to be the recipient of any donations is Skye Cancer Care.
If you wish your white envelope to go to this charity please print CHARITY on the front. If you wish the money to go to the church please print CHURCH.
The donations will be collected at morning worship on Sunday 25 September and Sunday 02 October.
Cash donations will, as usual, be collected at the door at the end of each service.
