INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While the wearing of face-coverings and maintaining social distancing is no longer a legal requirement, The Scottish Government and the Church of Scotland advice is that in indoor settings the continuation of these practices should be encouraged.
With the continuing high number of cases of Covid cases in and around Portree, and the increasing number of visitors to our island we would strongly recommend that :-
- Face-coverings (unless exempt) should still be worn in the church and throughout the service – including during the singing of praise items.
- Social distancing on entry to, and exit from, the church as well as when sitting in the pews – the small markers on the pew shelves are spaced at 1-metre intervals.
The existing cleaning and disinfecting regimes will continue with the church fully sanitised after each service.
All these procedures are designed to minimise the risks to anyone attending worship in the church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening. All are invited to attend.
Pastoral Visits : The Minister has resumed these visits and asks that he would be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Church Magazine :
Copies of the Summer edition of the magazine are now available in the Front Vestibule. Please collect a copy as you leave the church.
Minister’s Annual Leave :
As part of Sandor’s leave entitlement, he will be travelling, with Susan, to Hungary on Tuesday 6 September and returning on Friday 23 September.
During his absence, worship on Sunday 11 September will be led by Bill (am) and Roddy (pm) and on Sunday 18 September by Colin (am) and Lachie (pm)
Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship Services will continue to be held on the three Tuesdays of Sandor’s absence and will be led by regular attendees.
During Sandor’s absence please contact Bill Marshall on 01478 650405 regarding any urgent pastoral matters. In cases where a funeral would be involved, John Lamont, Interim Moderator for Kilmuir & Stenscholl, will officiate at these. Again, please contact me and I will contact Mr Lamont.
We wish Sandor and Susan a relaxing break with the family and hope that they return to Skye refreshed.
