Covid Regulations :
While the wearing of face-coverings and maintaining social distancing is no longer a legal requirement, The Scottish Government and the Church of Scotland advice is that in indoor settings the continuation of these practices should be encouraged.
With the continuing high number of cases of Covid cases in and around Portree, and the increasing number of visitors to our island we would strongly recommend that :-
- Face-coverings (unless exempt) should still be worn in the church and throughout the service – including during the singing of praise items.
- Social distancing on entry to, and exit from the church as well as when sitting in the pews – the small markers on the pew shelves are spaced at 1-metre intervals.
The existing cleaning and disinfecting regimes will continue with the church fully sanitised after each service.
All these procedures are designed to minimise the risks to anyone attending worship in the church.
Sunday Evening Services :
A reminder that from tonight Sunday Evening Services have now restarted.
Services are held in the church and commence at 6.00 pm.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Please note that with the Easter holiday period there will be no meeting on Tuesday 12 April and the group meetings will resume the study of Esther and Ruth on Tuesday 19 April.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 6.00 pm each Tuesday evening. All are invited to attend.
Preparatory Service :
Prior to the Communion Service to be held next Sunday, 17 April, a Preparatory Service will be held in the church at 7.00 pm on Friday 15 April.
All members of the congregation are invited to attend.
Easter Sunday – Sunrise Service : A short service will be held at the Lump at 6.00 am (British Summer Time) on Sunday 17 April. Sunrise time is 6.10 am (BST). All welcome to attend.
Easter Sunday – Communion :
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during the service on Sunday 17 April.
Members of the congregation are asked to bring their own piece of bread to this service.
Individual disposable glasses and a sealed container of wine will be set out at each pew seat.
New Communicant Members : Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 17 April.
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal :
Following the inclusion of donations made last Sunday, the total raised by the church stands at a wonderful £1,419.05
This sum has been sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Church Magazine :
Copies of the Easter edition of the magazine are now available in the Front Vestibule. Please collect a copy as you leave the church.
May thanks to all members of the congregation who submitted articles for this edition. It was very much appreciated and we are sure that you will enjoy these and the other items in the magazine
