INTIMATIONS
Covid Regulations :
From 09 August the Scottish Government removed most of the Covid restrictions which had been operating previously. However, the strong recommendation from the Church of Scotland is that, at present, congregations may wish to keep the 1 metre social distancing policy.
We feel that it would be more reassuring for those attending church if we continue to implement this practice.
The First Minister has also stated that it will continue to be the law that face coverings must be worn in all indoor settings as it is now.
Consequently, face coverings must still be worn in the church and throughout the service – including during the singing of praise items.
The existing cleaning and disinfecting regimes will continue with the church fully sanitised after each service.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship :
The group meets in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday. All are invited to attend.
Church Hall :
At the Congregational Meeting on 26 August the decision was taken that the Church Hall should, at present, remain closed to use by groups.
It was considered that proper and effective cleaning and disinfecting of the Hall between usage by different groups would not be possible.
This continued closure has obvious financial implications for the Church, but the Board was unanimous in its decision to put health and safety considerations before monetary gain.
The decision will be reviewed at later date in the light of the situation regarding Covid infections.
Charitable Giving :
One of the unfortunate consequences of the periods of lockdown last year was that we were unable to arrange our normal collections for charitable causes.
Kirk Session agreed that the September retiring collection and any white envelopes received during September or on Sunday 03 October can be directed to a local charity. Details of the charity identified will be notified shortly.
If you wish your white envelope to go to the identified charity please print CHARITY on the front. If you wish the money to go to the church please print CHURCH.
The donations will be collected at morning worship on Sunday 26 September and Sunday 03 October.
Cash donations will, as usual, be collected at the door at the end of each service.
