Sunday School & Youth Fellowship  resume today following the October holiday period.

The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.   All ladies welcome.

The Prayer Fellowship meets in the Manse at 7.00 pm on Tuesday evenings.   All are welcome to attend.

2014 Calendars – Advance Notice :  The Sunday School would wish you to know that this year they are intending to produce a 2014 Calendar which will be on sale to the congregation in due course.   The calendar will feature new designs and will be of the same high quality as the cards produced in previous years.

Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal :  Shoe Box Appeal forms are available in the Front Vestibule.

Kirk Session :  A meeting of the Kirk Session will be held in the Manse at 7.30 pm on Thursday 07 November.

Church Magazine  –  Christmas Edition

Preparations for the Christmas edition of the Church Magazine are starting.

A folder has been placed in the Front Vestibule of the church and

anyone who has an item (poem, article, prayer etc.) that they wish to be considered for inclusion in the Christmas or other editions of the magazine is asked to place it in the folder.   Items may also be sent directly to the editors, Jenni & Patrick Jones, at jennipatrick@btinternet.com

Church Magazine :  Anyone who would prefer to receive their copy of the Church Magazine electronically rather than having it delivered should enter their details on the sheet to be found in the Front Vestibule.

Ladies’ Bible Study Christmas Lunch :  The Ladies’ Bible Study group is once more planning a Christmas Lunch to which all ladies of the congregation are invited.  The lunch will be held in Marmalade at Portree House at 12.30pm on Saturday 30 November.  The cost will be £15.50 per person.  All ladies interested should collect an information sheet from the Front Vestibule and return the tear-off section by Sunday 24 November at the latest.

Situations Vacant :  It is with great pleasure that I intimate that all the vacancies advertised in recent Intimation Sheets have now been filled.  Very grateful thanks are extended to those who have offered of their time and talents to the filling of these important posts.

Door Duty / Readers :   Door Duty volunteers are sought to give a welcome greeting to people as they come into the church and to take up the offerings.   Readers would read the lessons during services.   If you would be willing to help with either or both of these duties please see Donna McEwan or Bill Marshall.

New Communicant Members :   Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone.   We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 17 November.

Remembrance Sunday 10 November  – Morning Worship :  As in previous years, Portree Parish Church will host the Remembrance Day Service. Following the period of silence in the Square, members of the uniformed organisations will join us in the Church for morning worship.

While the seating arrangements will be slightly different from a normal Sunday it is hoped that our own members and adherents will not be put

off from attending on that day.
