While the wearing of face-coverings and maintaining social distancing is no longer a legal requirement, The Scottish Government and the Church of Scotland advice is that in indoor settings the continuation of these practices should be encouraged.
With the continuing high number of cases of Covid cases in and around Portree, and the increasing number of visitors to our island we would strongly recommend that :-
The existing cleaning and disinfecting regimes will continue with the church fully sanitised after each service.
All these procedures are designed to minimise the risks to anyone attending worship in the church.

A reminder that Sunday Evening Services have now restarted.
Services are held in the church and commence at 6.00 pm.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Please note that from Tuesday 19 April these services will start at 7.00 pm
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during both services today.
Individual disposable glasses and a sealed container of wine will be set out at each pew seat.
Members of the congregation are asked to bring their own piece of bread to this service.
Preparatory Service :
Prior to the 17 April Communion Service a Preparatory Service will be held in the church at 7.00 pm on Friday 15 April.
All members of the congregation are invited to attend.
Easter Sunday – Sunrise Service : A short service will be held at the Lump at 6.00 am (British Summer Time) on Sunday 17 April. Sunrise time is 6.10 am (BST). All welcome to attend.

Copies of the Easter edition of the magazine are now available in the Front Vestibule. Please collect a copy as you leave the church.

New Communicant Members : Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Sunday 17 April.
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal :
Following the inclusion of donations made last Sunday, the total raised by the church stands at a wonderful £1,419.05
This sum has been sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

We are delighted to announce that at the meeting of Kirk Session on Thursday 10 March the decision was taken to restart Sunday Evening Services from next Sunday, 3 April. Services will be held in the church and commence at 6.00 pm.
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal :
At the Congregational Board meeting on Thursday 10 March it was agreed that the church would collect donations for the above appeal organised by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). Any donations received on or before Sunday 3 April will be forwarded to that organisation to provide support for the refugees from the conflict. If you Google “Disasters Emergency Committee” or “DEC” you will find details of what your donations could provide.
It was also agreed that the proceeds of the March Retiral Collection should go to this cause.

With the resumption of Evening Services we intend to return to the previous pattern of members of the congregation joining the Elders on the Door Duty and Readers lists.
If you previously assisted with either or both of these important aspects of church life we would ask that you contact Donna McEwan on 01478 612266 to confirm if you wish to be included in the new rota.
