INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
The Kirk Session and Congregational Board have decided that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
November Communion :
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during both services today.
Individual disposable glasses and a sealed container of wine will be made available to all wishing to take the Elements.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Church Magazine – Christmas Edition :
It’s only 5 weeks to Christmas ! What is Christmas without your Portree Church magazine !
Please, please, please let us have YOUR contributions for this edition. They can be as long or as short as you like and on any topic.
As usual, contributions can be place in the red folder on the wall of the Front Vestibule or sent to me at wwm74marl@hotmail.com
Publication date will be Sunday 10 December so it would be wonderful if your contributions were received before Sunday 03 December.
Retiral Offering for November :
A Retiral Offering will be taken at the end of both services next Sunday, 26 November.
This collection will go towards the costs of major projects in our church buildings.
Vacancy Procedures – Election of Members of the Nominating Committee
As we have had 9 nominations to serve on the above Committee an election is required to select the 7 people to serve.
All Communicants and Adherents of the church are eligible to vote and you are asked to complete one of the Voting Cards today and hand these to Bill or Donna by the end of the service today.
Please note that you can only select a maximum of 7 of the names on the voting card.
