INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
At the last joint meeting of the Kirk Session and Congregational Board it was felt that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Sunday School :
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Church Hall – Cleaning Rota :
With the Hall now being used on a regular basis by community groups we are looking for volunteers willing to join the cleaning rota.
If you would wish to be involved in the Hall cleaning, please give your name to Heather Quaye.
As the Church will continue to be sanitised by “fogging”, the existing cleaning arrangements for that building will continue.
Church Garden :
We are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to look after the front garden of the church. This would entail grass cutting (electric mower provided) and any necessary weeding during the growing season.
Please see Roddy Beaton if you feel you could spare the time to carry out this work.
Church Magazine – Easter Edition :
The closing date for articles for this edition is two weeks today.
Please let us have YOUR contributions. They can be as long or as short as you like and on any topic.
As usual, contributions can be place in the red folder on the wall of the Front Vestibule or sent to me at wwm74marl@hotmail.com
It would be wonderful if your contributions were submitted before Sunday 19 March.
Disasters Emergency Committee – Turkey / Syria Earthquake Appeal :
Last Sunday, a further £770 was raised for this appeal.
When this was added to the amount donated on the previous Sunday, and the Gift Aid component was added, the total sum raised for the appeal came to a wonderful £1,572.50.
This sum has been forwarded to the DEC.
Once again, Portree Church has demonstrated in amazing generosity in giving aid to those most in need.
