INTIMATIONS :
Blythswood Christmas Shoe Box Appeal – Soup & Sandwich Lunch :
After morning today a simple Soup & Sandwich Lunch will be held in the Church Hall.
This will be followed by a short talk which will give details of how you can help with our efforts to provide boxes of basic essentials to deprived children and families in various parts of Europe.
We hope we can rely on your normal wonderful, commitment in helping to make Christmas more special for people who might otherwise receive no other gifts.
This event will replace the normal After Morning Worship Fellowship in the church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
Sunday School resumes next Sunday, 31 August. The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
We would dearly love to see more children attending Sunday School. If you know of anyone who might be interested in attending, please encourage them to come along. Not only will they be given the sound basis of a Christian education, but they will also have fun.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
New Communicant Members :
Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Church Magazine :
Copies of the latest edition of the magazine are now available in the Front Vestibule.
Please pick up your copy, and those for any of your friends, as you leave the church.
Many thanks to those who contributed items for this edition. Your contributions are very much appreciated.
Congregational Board and Kirk Session :
A meeting of the Congregational Board will take place in the Church on Thursday 28 August, commencing at 7.00 pm with a meeting of Kirk Session following thereafter.
All relevant papers will be issued before the meetings.
