INTIMATIONS
As Sandor is a Commissioner at this year’s General Assembly in Edinburgh, the morning service today will be led by Ronald MacDonald and evening worship at 6.00 pm by Hugh Campbell
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
At a joint meeting of the Kirk Session and Congregational Board it was felt that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Please note that, due to the installation of the new kitchen in the Church Hall, there will be no Ladies’ Bible Study on Tuesday 21 May.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Safeguarding Coordinator :
We are looking for a member of the congregation to take on this vitally important role. There is a Church of Scotland requirement that every church must have a Safeguarding Coordinator.
The duties are mainly administrative. Anyone interested in taking on this role or seeking more information about it should see Bill.
Summer Opening of the Church:
Our search for volunteers to allow the church to be open to visitors for restricted periods during the months of July and August has produced 8 names. This number would be insufficient to cover the requirements and we would need at least a total of 15 volunteers. If you can spare 1 hour per week (or more) to allow visitors to see inside our sanctuary, to sit and pray, to have a time of quiet contemplation, or simply to admire the stained-glass windows in the church please give your name to Donna or Bill.
Retiral Offering for May :
A Retiral Offering will be taken at the end of both services next Sunday, 26 May.
This collection will go towards the costs of major projects in our church buildings.
Courses :
Details of Blessed Bible Group Chat and Digital Disciples support group, the two online courses being offered by our Presbytery, are still displayed on the door in the front vestibule.
Anyone interested in joining either group will find the links on the posters and in the News section of the website.
