INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
At a joint meeting of the Kirk Session and Congregational Board it was felt that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
Easter Sunday – Communion :
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated during both services today.
Individual disposable glasses and a sealed container of wine will be set out at each pew seat.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
Sunday School is closed for the Easter holiday period. Classes will resume on Sunday 21 April.
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Summer Opening of the Church :
At the last meeting of Kirk Session it was decided to investigate the possibility of reopening the church to visitors during the Summer months of July and August. This would require the services of a number of volunteers to be in attendance in the church. The number of open days per week would depend on the number of volunteers who come forward.
The opening of the church during this period was always much appreciated by visitors who could simply come to see inside our beautiful church or to sit for a time of quiet personal prayer or to use the prayer sheets which would be provided.
If you would like to express an interest in volunteering for this important aspect of outreach please give your name to Bill or Donna.
Church Magazine – Easter Edition :
Copies of the Easter edition of the magazine are available in the Front Vestibule. Please collect a copy as you leave the church. Many thanks to those members of the congregation who submitted articles for this edition – these were very much appreciated. We hope that you will enjoy these and the other items in the magazine.
New Communicant Members :
Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church.
Easter Celebrations :
The programme of events for the church during the Easter period are as follows.
Friday 29 March at 7.00 pm : Preparatory Service in the Church
Sunday 31 March at 6.45 am : Sunrise Service at the Lump
