INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
The Kirk Session and Congregational Board have decided that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10:30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Pastoral Visits :
The Minister asks that he be kept informed of any member of the congregation who is ill, in hospital or would welcome a visit from him.
Church Magazine – Easter Edition
Copies of the Easter edition of the magazine are now available in the Front Vestibule.
Please pick up your copy, and those for any of your friends, as you leave the church.
Many thanks to those who contributed items for this edition. Your contributions are very much appreciated.
Summer Opening of the Church :
At the last meeting of Kirk Session it was decided to investigate the possibility of reopening the church to visitors during the Summer months of July and August. This would require the services of a number of volunteers to be in attendance in the church. The number of open days per week would depend on the number of volunteers who come forward.
The opening of the church during this period was always much appreciated by visitors who could simply come to see inside our beautiful church or to sit for a time of quiet personal prayer or to use the prayer sheets which would be provided.
If you would like to express an interest in volunteering for this important aspect of outreach please give your name to Bill or Donna.
New Communicant Members :
Any Adherent who would wish to become a full communicant member of the church should speak to the Minister at the end of the service or contact him by telephone. We would dearly love to see more Adherents take up full communicant membership of the church and take Communion on Easter Sunday 31 March.
Easter Celebrations :
The programme of events for the church during the Easter period are as follows.
Friday 29 March at 7.00 pm : Preparatory Service in the Church
Sunday 31 March at 6.45 am : Sunrise Service at the Lump
Sunday 31 March at 11.00 am : Morning Worship including the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
Sunday 31 March at 12.00 noon : Congregational Soup & Hot Cross Bun in the Church Hall
Sunday 31 March at 6.00 pm : Evening Worship including the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
Retiral Offering for March :
A Retiral Offering will be taken at the end of both services next Sunday, 31 March.
This collection will go towards the costs of major projects in our church buildings.
Community Foodbank
Demand for assistance continues to be high. 2023 saw the distribution of 2337 bags in Skye. However the last few months have seen a drop in the food donations being received and we would just like to remind you of the box on entering the Church doors. The Food bank committee are very appreciative of the continued support received from the Church of Scotland.
