INTIMATIONS
Covid :
While Covid is still present in the community, the majority of our congregation are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
The Kirk Session and Congregational Board have decided that we could now relax our previous strong recommendation that face coverings should be worn in the church.
The wearing of these face coverings will now be a matter of personal choice.
The cleaning and disinfecting regime in the church will continue, but at a reduced frequency. It will still be sanitised before each Sunday worship.
After Morning Worship Fellowship :
After our Morning Worship today, Tea , Coffee, Juice, and biscuits will be served in the Church. Please stay behind for as long or short a time as you can manage and enjoy a time of fellowship with other members of the congregation and with visitors to our church.
Sunday Evening Services :
Evening services are held in the church each Sunday and commence at 6.00 pm.
Sunday School :
Sunday School resumes today following the October holiday break.
The group meets every Sunday during the school term. They meet initially in the Church before moving to the Church Hall.
If required, a crèche facility is available.
Ladies’ Bible Study Group :
The Ladies’ Bible Study Group meets in the Hall at 10.30 am each Tuesday. The group will be delighted to welcome any new ladies who would want to join them in fellowship and friendship.
Bible Study & Prayer Fellowship Services :
These services are held in the Church at 7.00 pm each Tuesday evening.
All are invited to attend.
Life & Work Subscriptions 2024 :
We would ask that existing subscribers confirm with Morna MacLaren that they wish their subscription to continue. The annual subscription rate for 2024 remains at the same price of £42 for 12 monthly copies.
Anyone who would like to start receiving the magazine should also contact Morna.
Vacancy Procedures :
Today and next Sunday you will have the opportunity to check with Donna that your name is on the Electoral Register of Communicant Members and Adherents which will be used for the processes leading to the selection of the new minister for the United Parish of Portree, Kilmuir and Staffin Church of Scotland.
It is a Church requirement that your name appears on this Register before you can :
- Nominate someone to serve on the Nominating Committee who will select the sole nominee for the post of new minister.
- Serve on the Nominating Committee
- Vote to approve or otherwise, the sole nominee after that person has preached in the church.
