Portree Parish Church
A welcoming congregation
Based in Somerled Square in the centre of Portree, Portree Parish Church has been welcoming visitors since 1854. Built initially as a Free Church, the building became a United Free Church in 1900 before becoming part of the Church of Scotland in 1929.
We aim to be a welcoming, inclusive community and to respond to local needs in a variety of ways. Our hall is also functional space for hire in the centre of the village and used by many groups including the local food bank.

Coronavirus
Like many other churches, the Church of Scotland has been instructed that all gatherings for worship should cease from Wednesday 17 March 2020 until further notice.
During this period of crisis, the Minister remains available by telephone on 01478 611 868 for information, prayers, comfort or any possible help needed.
Online daily worship is available on the SANCTUARY FIRST website.
The minister should be contacted first where funeral arrangements are required. Current instruction from the Church of Scotland is that NO FUNERAL SERVICES SHOULD TAKE PLACE IN THE CHURCH.
We have been advised by the authorities not to proceed with the proposed daily broadcasts to the Square via the external speakers of our sound system.
