- Ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in 1976, Oradea, – Hungarian Reformed Church in Romania
- Married with Zsuzsanna ( Susan ) Kovacs in 1979
- With 3 children: Szende, Szerena and Tamas
- 4 grandchildren: Hanna, Flora and Lisa, living in Budapest with parents Szende and Ferenc and Ava, living in Scotland with Tamas and Claire
- Szerena, married to Zsolt, lives and works in Budapest (Hungary)
- Susan: care-worker in Home Farm Care Home , Portree
